Smjer i prepozicije: Directions & Prepositions

Goal: I can give and follow directions using prepositions of place.

Directions in Bosnia come with prepositions of place and a lot of hand-waving. These little words (kod, do, preko, pored) are used constantly in family life, not just for tourists.

Kupatilo: The Bathroom

Goal: I can find and name my bathroom things when I'm staying somewhere: soap, towel, toothbrush.

You've checked into the room, now find your things. Peškir is the towel word you'll hear most in Bosnia (ručnik is the same thing), and asking gdje mogu oprati ruke the moment you arrive is just good manners.

Od Nane do grada: From Nana to Town (Prepositions)

Goal: Use the little words od, iz, do, bez, kod, all of which pull the next word into the genitive.

A handful of everyday prepositions always take the genitive: od (from), iz (out of), do (up to), bez (without), kod (at someone's place).
