Nevrijeme: The Storm

Goal: I can describe a storm, thunder, lightning, hail, and order everyone inside like a proper nana.

The balcony veš (laundry) rescue is performed at Olympic speed, and whoever saved it narrates the story for the rest of the week.

Prava zima: Real Winter

Goal: I can survive a Bosnian winter out loud: frost, ice, minus temperatures, snowmen, and dressing warm enough to satisfy a nana.

Bosnian winter has two faces: the postcard (snjegović, sankanje, grudvanje) and the fine print (poledica, and everyone's nana yelling 'klizavo je!' from the window). Both are mandatory experiences.

Ljetna žega: Summer Heat

Goal: I can complain about the heat, find the shade, swim, sunbathe, and negotiate the air conditioning.

Bosnian summer diplomacy: half the family believes klima saves lives, the other half believes it causes every known disease via promaha. The armistice line runs through the hladovina, where everyone agrees to sit with a cold sok.

Priroda i prognoza: Nature & the Forecast

Goal: I can describe the zavičaj, mountains, forests, lakes, fresh air, and read the weather like a nana.

Every Bosnian believes their zavičaj has the best priroda, the coldest voda, and the freshest zrak in the world, and every one of them is right. The supporting evidence is always the same: 'Samo dođi pa vidi.'
