I am... in Bosnian
ja sam...
ja sam... is how you say I am... in Bosnian.
How it's used
'To be' changes with the person: ja sam, ti si, on/ona je, mi smo, vi ste, oni su. The negative is nisam, nisi, nije.
From the lesson: Introductions
When you meet older relatives, expect a cheek kiss (usually two or three, region-dependent) and 'čija si ti?', 'whose are you?', because in Bosnia you're identified by your family first. Being able to answer 'Ja sam [name], [dad's name] sin/kćerka' is social gold.
