You in Bosnian

ti
pronounTaught in: Family & Greetings

ti is the Bosnian word for you (informal).

How it's used

'A ti?' = 'And you?', the perfect conversation volley.

From the lesson: Introductions

When you meet older relatives, expect a cheek kiss (usually two or three, region-dependent) and 'čija si ti?', 'whose are you?', because in Bosnia you're identified by your family first. Being able to answer 'Ja sam [name], [dad's name] sin/kćerka' is social gold.
